They keep ringing me up saying I’m owed a £50,000 refund because I got scammed out of £250 in some share deal, claiming they need to repay people who lost money. I told them to send the refund cheque to a charity instead, but they said they can only do bank transfers. I asked them to send it to me directly and I’d give a letter allowing them to forward the money to a charity, but they refused. I’m 100% certain this is just another ongoing scam.

Today I got a call from 02070728800 and the bloke claimed he was conducting a survey for the Council. He even knew my name which made me quite uneasy. But I got a bit doubtful since the call kept cutting out and it definitely didn’t sound like a normal landline. He kept probing about the gadgets we have at home and our internet setup. I was in a rush anyway and then the call just dropped. I’ll ring the Council tomorrow to confirm, but honestly, it felt like a dodgy and risky call to me.

Week after week, this number keeps ringing without leaving a single message. It's as if they hang up just before the voicemail kicks in. However, today they weren't so swift. I actually got to hear a faint sound that resembled shuffling or movement, like someone was on the other end inside a building, but oddly enough, there was no other noise at all.
