I get these calls every so often. They ring up saying you've been in a crash, but when you say "yeah, I have been", they start asking for specifics like when and where. Just respond with, "If I was in an accident, surely you've got all that info already." They usually don't know how to handle that and end the call pretty quick. Another funny thing to try is blowing a referee's whistle near the phone - that tends to shut them down straight away.

I got a call from a woman asking about a car crash, she said it wasn’t my fault. It’s funny cause I actually had an accident about half a year ago. I just said “ok” to her, then she suddenly passed me over to a manager or something. Felt a bit odd, so I ended up hanging up and blocking the caller.
