Just a bit different from what others said, but I got a call saying I supposedly owed £2500.75 to my daughter, very specific amount, for something that supposedly happened 2 or 3 years ago, though when I asked it became “up to 4 years” - pretty vague really! When I pressed them for the company name, they said Motor Investigations. Greetings! I’m Yvonne, and I must admit, I’m utterly exasperated with these companies that persistently bombard my phone with their offers to consolidate debts or entice me with credit cards at extortionate rates. It’s quite infuriating! Most of these callers aren’t even from around these parts, let alone British. It gives me the impression that they’ve somehow acquired my personal number through rather dubious means. When I get a new phone, I generally only share my number with close friends and family-it's frustrating to see it in the hands of these unsolicited callers!

I received a rather unexpected phone call from this number claiming to represent '1st Call'. The caller, a woman with a South African accent, insisted that they were dedicated to making sure the Financial Services Regulations were followed. She then went on to inquire about my credit cards and any borrowing I might have, proposing a complimentary service to consolidate my debts. I grew a tad curious and asked how her company managed to keep things running without charging me. Her answer was rather dismissive, telling me it was none of my concern since I wouldn’t be out of pocket, and then she abruptly hung up. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

It all kicked off when they mentioned something like, "there’s an amount set aside for you." Naturally, I probed a bit, asking who had reached out and how they managed to get hold of my number. The lad responded rather forcefully, insisting he was merely trying to assist. I cut him short, suggesting it might be wise for him to familiarise himself with the law first, as my number is registered with the Telephone Preference Service. He promptly hung up on me. Honestly, I’m just exhausted by these so-called helpers. My list of blocked numbers is getting rather extensive!
