What a right circus this lot are! They've somehow managed to get their hands on my home and mobile numbers. I've signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, and I only part with my home number under duress. It was one of those automated systems - took them a whole twenty seconds to answer. The person on the line confessed it was about PPI. I told them to kindly take me off their list. I tried ringing the number back twice, but all I got was a monotonous voice message that was complete drivel!

Got a ring from an 0207 number this arvo, which was a surprise cos I rarely pick up these days given all the scams going about. Took the call and some bloke saying he was from "First" something - couldn’t really catch the rest. He started asking about my boiler, so I snapped back, “Did I ask you to ring me?” He just mumbled no, but obviously what else could he say? I cut him off quick, told him I’m sorted with my boiler, then hung up while he was still droning on. After I looked up the number online, turns out loads of folks have had the same bother. Proper annoying!

On Wednesday 12th February 2012 at around 6:15 PM, I got a call from these annoying lot. They asked if I was Mr ..........., I said yes, and then they claimed to be heating engineers. I just said I wasn’t interested and ended the call. I checked the caller ID with 1471 and it showed the number as 02070609336. When I rang back that number, I got an automated message saying it wasn’t in use anymore but could be rented out. They also gave an 0870 number to get in touch with them. I just hung up after that. Honestly, these people are so rude and don’t seem to care about the hassle they cause. My advice - just tell them you’re a certified heating engineer with a Corgi registration and you don’t need their help.

So I got a call this morning from some lot who started quizzing me about the age of my boiler and whether it was condensing or not. I told them I’m not a plumber or anything, so how’m I supposed to know? I also asked why they even cared. The woman, who sounded Indian, said they could fit me a new boiler that would cut my bills and all that. But when I asked where they were calling from, she just ended the call on me, which I thought was pretty cheeky. Honestly, my tip is just to tell these lot to jog on, or worse if you’re in the mood - maybe then they’ll get the hint.

Got a call earlier from someone claiming to be from a pension review firm. They rattled off a company name at lightning speed, so I couldn’t catch it properly. When I asked them to repeat who they were, the line went dead straight away. I've since added the number to my blocked list, so at least my phone won't even ring if they try again.

This number rang me yesterday about a boiler deal, offering one for £17 a month. I told them I wasn’t interested. The lady on the phone had a strong foreign accent and struggled with my name, so she passed me onto her manager. That bloke was really rude. I told him I planned to get a boiler when I turned 60, and he just said sorry before calling me an old lady! I dropped the call straight away and said I’d report them. He didn’t even care, just shouted “go ahead” in a really disrespectful way. Proper cheeky behaviour.

I reckon this might be government spying. They also do these fake calls pretending to be from Windows or Microsoft. Weirdly, when I called back and said hello, an automated voice just said goodbye. Maybe they’re trying to figure out who’s home with voice recognition. I’ve heard they want to collect fingerprints and DNA from everyone too. This isn’t just about scamming for cash, I get these calls almost daily and I know the voices. Why bother calling the same people over and over, especially when you’ve already made it clear you’re not genuine? Doesn’t make sense, so there’s gotta be another reason. Since we’re constantly being watched, this feels like part of that. Perhaps they use cheaper foreign workers to do it?

i’ve been getting these calls for ages now and told them a few times i’m on the TPS and even mentioned I’m unwell with cancer but they just keep ringing. One time they actually argued with me on the phone and once they even hung up on me! Sometimes they call me non-stop, like 3 times in one day from morning till night. I found out blocking the number on my iPhone is free now, but if i want to block it on my landline, i gotta pay a monthly fee… seems a bit unfair. Honestly, this company is borderline harassing me and i wish there was a way to stop them for good. I’m seriously thinking about just turning my phone off completely.

Got a call today 05/12/2013 around 4.38pm. A lady said she was calling about the Government boiler scheme. I told her I thought it was probably a scam, and she got all defensive like, “scam?! I haven’t asked you for anything!” She sounded South African, which made me even more suspicious. I ended up hanging up, but then she rang right back straight away. I just put her on hold after that.

So we got a call from this number tonight, and shockingly they actually knew our names and kept asking loads of questions. We answered none of them, and when I handed the phone to my husband, they just hung up straight away. I tried calling that number back but it just went dead, no ring or anything. From what I found out, numbers starting with 0207 can be bought by pretty much anyone. Just google 0207 and you'll see people can buy these UK numbers without even living here. No wonder nuisance calls are everywhere. It’s really sad how things are nowadays.

Honestly, whoever owns this number really ought to be stopped from ringing people like this. They've been pestering my 86 year old mum nonstop, and she's answering every time thinking it's urgent. Now they're trying to get hold of me, but I just don't pick up. It’s beyond annoying - why don’t the authorities do something about it?

Got a call that was completely silent at first, so I held on for about half a minute. Then suddenly some weird electronic tunes began blasting. I switched it to speaker to keep them busy, and mate, the music just kept going forever!

Today around 11am I got a call from this number, and the person was asking for my mum. I told them she was at work and asked what the call was about - something to do with money she’s owed apparently. We get tons of calls like this, mostly sales or PPI stuff, even though we’re on the TPS list. I told the caller my mum wasn’t interested and to not call us again, then ended the call. But, to my surprise, he rang back straight away, shouting at me for being rude and insisting my mum had arranged the call. He even said he’d ring her directly and tell her how I’d spoken to him, which I found quite funny - if she’d been here, I’m sure she’d have just laughed and said “that’s my daughter!” I chuckled and hung up. This whole thing really got on my nerves, especially him calling back and shouting like I’m some kid. Who should I complain to if he calls again? I’m ready to give him a piece of my mind! Cheers :)

Yesterday, I got a ring from this number and it turned out to be another PPI scam. They started with the typical spiel about how I could claim back on old bank fees, loans, and credit card charges. I told them I've already tried claiming PPI before and it didn’t lead to anything. Still, the bloke kept pushing, saying I might get some cashback after all - although it felt like he was mostly trying to earn his cut by hooking me up with the next step.

PPI con artists I got calls on both my landline and mobile from these idiots. I’m signed up with the TPS and hardly ever share my home phone number unless I really have to. They use one of those automated call systems - it took them just about 20 seconds to pick up. The person on the other end actually admitted straight away it was about PPI. I told them to take my number off their calling list. I tried calling back a couple of times but all I got was some daft voicemail every single time.
