They acted like they was from a life insurance company doing a checkup on a 6 month policy. Then they started saying they could help me save cash on my current plans. They even knew some bits about the policies. Seem pretty honest at first, but if you try to ask anything, they just clam up and wont give you answers.

They keep ringing me here in Stockholm, Sweden, and it’s been going on for ages. I’m not British and haven’t set foot there since a summer interrail trip back in ’89. The phone buzzed four times, then stopped, before trying once more! I always ignore calls from numbers I don’t know and check them after they stop ringing. If it’s genuinely someone I know, I can easily ring them back later. Hopefully, this advice helps older folks living alone stay safe.

I keep receiving calls from this number over and over again. Occasionally, there’s just silence on the other end. Once, it even sounded as if I had dialled into a busy office, yet no one ever answered me. Most recently, the caller hinted they knew me, but I couldn't quite make out who they were representing. Quite baffling, really!

Got a call from some guy abroad who somehow knew my name and was saying I'd set up an investment account with some weirdly named firm last year. I told him I hadn't, but he kept pushing like I was lying or something. Got a call from a guy with an African accent looking for someone named Michael. I said that wasn’t me, and then he asked what my name was and how I was doing. I lied and said I was Peter, then asked who he was. Suddenly the line went weird and he said he was ringing about some £3300 investment I supposedly made with them. I just laughed and said, "Wait a minute, you wanted Michael, now suddenly Peter’s the one with cash?" He just hung up. What a load of muppets!

So I got this call from someone saying they were from Spot Finex or Sport Finex, not quite sure cause he was hard to catch. He claimed my account was frozen and said I had like 3300 euros invested. Thing is, I’ve never had any account with them. I played along for a bit and then got annoyed when he started demanding my bank info!

A bloke called Kevin Harrison from Spotfinex rang up saying my missus had an account with them holding about 5200 euros. He told us it was frozen because it had been left inactive. Then he said we needed to pay more than 500 euros and give bank details to unlock it, so they could send the money over to her. When things got heated, he slipped up and mentioned the firm’s head office was in Estonia, but they also had an office in Cyprus. We asked if they could just post us a cheque instead, but apparently they only dealt with bank transfers.

I got a call from someone saying they were with "FXPRO COMPANY" about some "online marketing" thing. Total scam, no doubt. They were really pushy and spoke so fast I couldn’t make out half of it. Honestly, how they live with themselves I have no idea. Isn’t it mad how some folks forget basic kindness and just try to trick people like that?

It was all rather chaotic on the other end, and they hung up immediately as I picked up the call. I’m definitely adding this number to my blocked contacts.

This bloke got really nasty and pushy when I said no to his share selling pitch. Didn’t appreciate the attitude, so I just blocked his number.

I got a call from a bloke who didn’t even let me get a word in. When i asked why he was ringing, he claimed i’d asked for the call. He rattled off my phone number and an email i don’t even use anymore. He was pretty nasty, and when i asked his name, he just shouted at me, saying if i hadn’t asked for the call, i should just end it. So that’s exactly what i did.

Some bloke said he was from a trading firm and wanted me to set up an account. Proper rude chap. Definitely a scam.

They called me claiming I had 7200 euros invested somewhere and offered to help me get it out. They even knew my name, which felt a bit off.

Somebody rang me saying they were from FxPro forex trading, but it’s all a load of rubbish. They said I supposedly had 6,300 Euros locked in an account with them, and I’d have to pay a 5% fee (around 315 Euros) before they’d release the money - total con. At first, they tried to get me to send the money via cryptocurrency, but when I told them I didn’t have any crypto wallet, they offered to email me their bank info instead. Then they wanted me to send my bank details back in an email, which there’s no way I’m doing! Fingers crossed no one else falls for this trick.
