I received a message requesting me to verify my email address for the purpose of dispatching a new SIM card related to some purported 5G service. They claimed to act on behalf of the O2 network, but I'm rather sceptical about their legitimacy. Sounds a bit dodgy to me!

I got a call from someone claiming to work for O2, saying they needed to verify my email before sending out a new SIM for some kind of 5G upgrade. I was pretty wary straight away and told them I don’t share personal details over the phone - honestly, I never do, no matter who it is, and I reckon people should be careful about it too. The bloke sounded annoyed and said he’d post the SIM instead. I’ve tried looking it up but can’t see anything about O2 randomly mailing new SIMs for 5G anywhere online.
