Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent today claiming to be from Telephone Preference Management, not Service as you'd expect. She wanted to speak to my mum, who had this phone number before me but sadly passed away about six years back. If she really worked for that firm, she’d surely know my name since I’m the current owner of the number. Seems like just another scam from someone using an Asian accent.

My mum got a call from this number, with the caller saying they were from the Telephone Preference Service. Sounds just like what others have mentioned here. Also, my workplace got a similar call from 01508 280644. It's definitely dodgy and a scam for sure.

Received six calls from this number last night, but no one ever spoke. Then, this morning, I picked up and a chap with an Indian accent identified himself as being from the Telephone Preference Service. I expressed my doubts, to which he rather raised his voice and insisted, "if you could just let me share some details." I promptly terminated the call. He then rang again immediately, but I chose to ignore it. Thank goodness for caller ID! I'm definitely not answering that one again.

The first time, the background was so noisy I couldn't make out a word, so I just ended the call. Then about 45 minutes later, another man called and started asking about the expiry on my card. I told him no thanks and promptly hung up. Need to figure out how to block these calls for good.
