A bloke with an Indian accent rang me saying I hadn’t paid my taxes and that the authorities were gonna come after me and arrest me soon. When I asked him for his job title at HMRC, he just dropped the call! Weird thing is, about 10 minutes earlier, someone with a very similar voice had phoned my landline asking about a car I had on eBay.

Got a call from this number recently, picked up and all I heard was silence, then after a few moments a beep and a robotic female voice saying "Goodbye". This number had called me a couple of times before, so this time I foolishly called back - the ring tone didn’t sound like your usual London/UK line. A man answered, sounded like a call centre, said "This is (can’t remember the name) from HMRC, can I have your name please?" I gave it, and he said "We’re trying to reach a Sheila Stevens". Not me, of course, then he said they’d remove my number from their list.

I received a voicemail claiming that I was facing potential legal action from HMRC if I didn’t return the call. The name WALTON was mentioned, just like in several other reviews. I chose not to ring back - it’s absolutely absurd that in this day and age, unsolicited calls are still a nuisance; it must be incredibly concerning for many, particularly the elderly who tend to receive these bothersome calls. I recently received a rather alarming call from someone pretending to be from HM Revenue and Customs, claiming I owed £3,500 in unpaid taxes. They threatened arrest if I didn't settle up immediately. Thankfully, my partner did a quick search online for the number and it turned out to be a total con! I really hope others steer clear of this scam and don’t fall victim to it like I almost did.

I rang the number, and a bloke picked up after a significant pause, greeting me with what sounded like a rather hesitant HMRC introduction, almost as if he was fumbling for words. Got a call from some robot sounding American lady threatening me if I "ignore" her. She claimed to be Officer Sarah Wilson with a "division" number and warned that if I or my solicitor don't respond, I’d "deal with legal consequences". Felt like a scam but still pretty scary hearing that kinda thing. How do these lot get away with it? I couldn’t see any proper way to reach HMRC about it either.

On the morning of 27th April 2018, precisely at 11:09, I got a rather alarming call from the number 02070433778. The caller, who identified herself as Sarah Wilson from HMRC, insisted that I mustn't disregard the call and suggested returning it or seeking legal advice. The voice sounded pre-recorded and had a distinctly American twang-quite odd for an HMRC representative, if you ask me. Given the circumstances, I'm opting to sit tight and wait for the authorities to arrive at my doorstep. After all, I do pay my taxes, and it seems that’s what the police are here for-to make life a bit tricky for compliant citizens, especially those of us who are over the age of 50.

Got a call earlier today from 02070433778, some automated American lady claiming to be from HM Revenue & Customs, saying I must call back urgently and making threats. The recording was really scratchy. When I rang back on a different phone, a guy with an Asian accent answered, sounded really unprofessional - I told him I’d report the number for fraud and they just hung up. Tried to get through to the real HM Revenue & Customs to report it, but the line was stuck on hold all the time. Total SCAM.

I had a phone call from this number claiming to be from Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs. However, when I attempted to return the call, it rang several times before cutting off completely. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Got a call again from this number, some American woman shouting about legal trouble when I called back! Then I got another call and a voicemail full of threats but she ended it with a “have a nice day”. Proper weird, blocked the number straight away.

Someone said they were from HMRC and left me a voicemail saying I’d face legal trouble if I didn’t ring them back. I instantly looked up the number online and came across this forum. I just blocked the caller and didn’t bother returning the call. Pretty sure it was one of those scams trying to get my National Insurance or bank info.

Got a robotic call saying it was urgent about Sarah Wilson and some HMRC investigation. I rang back 020 7043 3778 and ended up speaking to a guy who sounded like he was working in an Indian call centre. He said he was from HMRC investigations and wanted the phone number I’d been called on. I didn’t give it and kept asking for their official website but then he just hung up on me. Definitely a dodgy scam trying to frighten people.

Just got a missed call from 020 7043 3778 while I was in the shower. I called back and got this scary automated message from a woman with an American accent. She said I’d broken the law according to HMRC and that if I didn’t get in touch right away, I’d end up in jail!!!

I got a voicemail from this number claiming to be HMRC, warning me to return their call or risk facing legal action from solicitors. I find it rather odd that they wouldn’t just send a formal letter if there were any issues regarding payments.
