Mr Gold seems to be after my late dad's property just like the others before him. What really puzzles me is how he managed to get my partner's name and number! No idea where he dug that up from!

I got a call from some property investment firm who must have found my details in the London Gazette. They asked if I was interested in selling my mum's house, which she sadly passed away in. Bit surprising to get a call like that out of the blue.

This bloke claimed he was with a property development firm and was carrying out some kind of survey about my late mum’s place. I’m curious as to how he got hold of my phone number - feels like they might’ve broken GDPR laws. The only orgs that should have that info are the register for births, marriages and deaths, the council, the probate office, and a couple of estate agents. Surely all these people understand GDPR and know the consequences if they slip up?

It really worries me how they managed to get hold of my phone number.

They keep ringing non-stop and it's really starting to get on my nerves.

It was quite strange, they actually had my name and even knew all about my late dad's house in detail. I wasn't having any of it and told them to buzz off.

Got a ring from 02070432238 about my mum’s house. She died last Christmas, and the funeral was just a few weeks back. Caller knew my name and seemed to be clued up that the house was empty with no clear ownership info on the land registry online. My mum lived in Manchester, but I’m actually based in Congleton. The person asked if I was thinking of selling or keeping the place. I was polite but just told him I wasn’t interested. Seemed like a legit guy though.

Unsolicited call. This number dialled my home phone, yet I’m supposed to be unlisted. How on earth did they obtain my number? And how did they come to know about my late father's estate being handled through probate? This is such a distressing period for me and my family; it’s appalling how low some individuals can stoop.

I got a call from someone calling themselves "rob gold" - funny name, right? Turns out they’re those types who ring up out of the blue, hoping you’ll hand over inherited property for a quick sale. I told them off, mentioning that under gdpr they need your permission before contacting you like that. Hopefully it'll put them off!

Some bloke named Robert Gold from High Town Investments rang my cousin a couple of times about buying a property. She doesn’t even have any interest in selling anything, it was a surprise call about an empty family home. What’s weird is he got her private number somehow, no idea where he found it. Tried searching online for the company but there’s hardly anything about them, no website to be found either. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

Right, so earlier today on 25/10/19 I put up a comment but thought I’d add a bit more now that I’ve actually spoken with Mr Gold. Turns out we got the company name wrong and didn’t quite get what they’re about at first. They do have a website, and from chatting with him I learnt that they buy properties from sellers who need to sell quickly, and then the developers take over from there. Here’s the site here [#][#]hyjant###)/

I got a random call from someone named Mr Gold asking about a property close to my family’s place. I’ve got no clue where he found those details he was talking about.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Hightown Investments or something like that, plus a few versions with “investments and development comps” thrown in. They wanted me to ring back about some “development U5 on Enborne Road.” Never came across this bloke or his company before, and there’s definitely no Enborne Road near me for miles around. Ring him back? No chance, I’m not falling for that.
