Don’t ignore this message, please call us back. If neither you nor your solicitor contact us, be ready for legal action. Goodbye and stay safe.' I've also had scam emails claiming to be from HMRC demanding payment, so I reported them using the above email address. We received the same call mentioned above. HMRC advise that any suspicious calls or emails like this should be reported to the email provided.

Got a call from someone saying they're Officer Sarah Wilson from HMRC, said I had to call back urgently or I'd face prosecution. The number was 020 3769 0669 (a London line). They called me on a withheld number, but when I checked, there was no ring or voicemail. It seems pointless since they never pick up to actually try and get your info. Total waste of time.

Got a weird call from some woman sounding like an old 80s robot, saying she was with HMRC and I needed to ring her back on my lawyer’s number. Honestly, the most ridiculous thing I’ve come across. No way am I calling that back. If HMRC really needed to speak to me, they’d just ring directly - not leave some dodgy automated voicemail like that.

I got a couple of calls from someone claiming to be 'Sarah Wilson at HMRC' saying I’d face serious trouble if I didn’t respond. Honestly, the robotic voice sounded like it was recorded on some old 80s computer, so I just laughed and blocked the number straight away. They rang back later, but because I’d blocked them it went to voicemail. I caught the end of the same automated message again. Just a heads up, they’ve now changed their caller ID to: 0207 043 1670. Be careful!

Similar to what others have mentioned, I got a voicemail from some robotic voice claiming to be Sarah Wilson, spouting the same threats and script. When I searched for "Sarah Wilson HMRC" online, it brought me to this site and that made it clear to me it's a scam call for sure.

Got a couple of voicemails from someone called Sarah, so I ring back. A bloke picks up and says he’s going to read me some lawsuit stuff but I’m not allowed to speak over him. After he’s done rambling, I tell him I’ve a full-time job and definitely not self-employed, so how am I supposed to be dodging tax? He just kept repeating ‘thank you... thank you’ like a robot. Total scammers, don’t fall for it!

The individual on the line claimed that I was involved in fraudulent activity and insisted that I must respond to these allegations in a courtroom setting.

I’m currently overseas, but once I’m back, I plan on ringing them up and keeping them chatting with loads of stories and questions before I finally report them. Sounds like a good way to kill some time!
