Me and some mates have a little game to see how long we can keep these types on the line by messing them about. The longest was 20 minutes, but I reckon they’re catching on now. I'm not sure who rang me, but I've got a setting on my mobile that lets me block annoying numbers for good - and I've used it. We used to get loads of nuisance calls, a lot from overseas, and got so irked we ended up buying a phone with BT Call Guardian, which I'd definitely suggest. The software catches these calls before they reach you. Your call history will show you who tried calling, and you've got options like Allow once, Always allow, Delete or Block. Once you’ve blocked a number, it won’t bother you again. Since then, our phone's been a lot quieter.

Today alone I’ve been called about 5 times. Whenever I ask them for their freephone number or where they're based, they refuse to answer. I’ve said they’re really messing up my day and interrupting my business, but it seems they couldn’t care less. Before, some of them even told me to get lost, and most times the call ends with them just hanging up. I’ve lodged a complaint with the ICO to see if that can sort it out. I reached out to BT concerning this number that keeps pestering me. They informed me it's a scam call originating from outside the UK, which apparently they can't prevent from coming through their exchange. Alternatively, if I signed a new 12-month contract, it would be provided at no extra charge. It's baffling really, in this day and age, that they can't thwart such calls. Why haven't they involved the authorities here in the UK, or even contacted the country where these scammers are based, to help bring them to justice? Honestly, I dread answering the phone now!

Today, my mum was really upset talking about this number that keeps ringing and then just disconnecting. She went through domestic abuse a few years back and it’s really upsetting her.

Got a call from an Indian bloke asking me to verify personal info. Didn't answer how he insulted me when I said no, bit too rude. It’s really scary for us older people who live on our own. I’ve blocked the number now but surely the authorities can do more to stop this kind of harassment?

I requested that my number be removed from their records, but was met with a rather abrasive refusal. They bluntly told me "no" and promptly disconnected the call.

I received a trio of calls on the same afternoon, and I made it very clear that they should remove my number from their database. After doing a 1471 to track the digits, I called the number back only to be greeted by a recorded message stating 'you have missed dialled'. Absolutely shocking behaviour! I’m signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, yet it seems to be failing miserably!

This bloke was proper pushy, wanted to check my address but the moment I asked who he was, he just told me to shove off.

I received a call from this number requesting that I participate in a survey. I told the caller quite plainly that I refuse to divulge personal information to strangers on the phone. This seemed to agitate him, and he started to hurl some rather rude remarks before I ended the call. To my shock, he then continued to ring me incessantly, around four or five times, becoming increasingly menacing and aggressive. He even made threats, claiming he would keep calling every minute throughout the day until I obliged him with answers.

Got a call from Eric at Perfect Benefits, and when I told him to take my number off, he said I needed to pay £20. Call was around 11.30 on 08-09. Quite annoying!

I seem to be inundated with calls from this number. The most recent one was from a chap who sounded like he was from India or Pakistan. When I chose not to engage, he had the audacity to declare he would ring me twenty times a day until I responded. When I rebuked his manner, he just chuckled and hurled some expletives my way. It's beyond me how such behaviour is tolerated.

Picked up my home phone and some bloke was really rude straight away. He got all aggressive and when I called him out on it, he just cut me off. I simply ignored the call that came through. I receive countless calls daily and have adopted the policy of not picking up unless I recognise the number. Instead, I rely on 1471 to trace who attempted to reach me, allowing me to return the call if it's someone I know. I'm also in favour of initiatives aimed at tackling those pesky nuisance calls!

I received a call from this number earlier today. I expressed my frustration with the incessant calls from this dreadful company and requested they cease their calls. "Eric" responded by insisting that they weren't dreadful at all and even threatened to shoot me! Why on earth can't someone put a stop to these nuisance calls?

I've received numerous calls lately, and every time I inquire about who's on the line, they hang up on me. It's quite frustrating that I can't return the call to discover who's trying to reach me. I receive calls from this number two to three times daily. Each time, no one ever picks up, and all I hear is a woman's voice saying 'goodbye’ before it disconnects. Quite puzzling, really!
