received a call twice today from 02052372583, sounded like an indian bloke pretending to be from tps. he messed up my name and was asking for a different person and also wanted the postcode. told him that tps is a free thing and i've never had any calls from them before, but he kept pushing about stopping nuisance calls forever. thankfully, i didn’t give him my actual name or bank info and just ended the call!

I've been getting calls from this number loads of times every day for nearly a week now. It usually just rings out when I pick up, so I figured it was some automated robocall. But today, a bloke with an Indian accent finally spoke, claiming he worked for the Telephone Preference Service’s Call Barring team. He said I was still getting spam calls and promised they’d stop from tomorrow. Then he asked me to verify some info, including my bank or credit card details! I hung up straight away - definitely a dodgy scam!

They've rung me about 3 times just today and quite a few times the last few days too. I finally answered this morning and just told them "Please stop calling this number," then ended the call straight away.

Got calls from this number about five times today, but every time no one answers when I pick up. Sounds like one of those call centres that uses auto-dialers to shove loads of random UK numbers at their team. It’s a shame telcos are selling UK numbers to places abroad, like India, just to make some extra cash.

I just let it ring out. Lately, I've had a bunch of sketchy calls from random numbers, so I always look them up here before picking up. Looks like there's a bogus TPS company popping up in Google ads too.

I got a couple of calls from people claiming they were with the TPS, saying I'd get a free lifetime service. But then they started asking for my bank card info to "verify" who I was. They were pretty pushy about it. Of course, I told them no thanks.

Had a call like this earlier, said I was tied up and just ended it cause it felt dodgy. Seeing these comments now, glad I trusted my gut!

A woman with an Indian accent called saying she was from TPS. She gave the right number but had the wrong name and address. When I pointed this out, she said “Oh, so you don’t want TPS now? Starting tomorrow, we won’t stop any nuisance calls for you.” I told her, “Isn’t it ironic that you’re making a nuisance call just to say I’ll get nuisance calls tomorrow?” After that, she just hung up. They didn’t ask for any cash, but it’s clear it was some sort of scam.

They’ve rung me up a couple of times already today. Whenever I try to answer, they just ignore me, but if my really old mum picks up, they carry on. I’ve even had to freeze her bank account in the past because of these lot!

I got called 3 times today from 02052372583, this woman said her name was Nancy and said she was from some telephone barring service that was about to expire. She knew my address and everything which freaked me out, then suddenly asked for my bank card's expiry date. When I seemed suspicious, she told me to look for a bank statement to prove it was legit. Said the service was free and didn’t need my card info or anything. I ended the call quick because it didn’t feel right at all - pretty sure it was a scam.

I got a call from someone pretending to be a bank and asking my elderly family member for their details. They weren't having any of it and called back straight away to sort things out.

Got a ring from this number claiming they were from some phone preference service but wouldnt say who exactly. They told me they’d slapped a block on calls I supposedly wanted stopped. I told them I never signed up for that, but the bloke was really pushy and said he actually knew more about my phone line than I did! When I started to argue back, the guy just cut me off. Proper rude, that one.
