Got a package with an O2 sim in it, even though I’ve never been with O2 before. Bit strange really!

I'm getting around a couple of calls daily from this and other similar numbers using the same scam. Luckily, I've got BT Call Guardian set up, so none of them manage to connect.

Received a call at half eight this morning, and there was nothing but silence until I heard a woman's voice bid farewell with a simple 'goodbye'. Upon attempting to return the call, I was met with a response stating that the number couldn't be found. Quite peculiar, isn't it?

Yesterday I got a call from someone saying her name was Jenny Wison and she was from BT. She told me my computer was hacked and that she was calling from Microsoft. I turned on my computer but I didn’t give her any details. Is this alright or should I be worried?

Received a call from someone purporting to represent BT, discussing my sluggish internet speeds and suggesting it was due to poor downloads. When I queried his affiliation, he reiterated he was indeed from BT. However, as soon as I mentioned that there were no gadgets in the house, not even a smartphone, the caller promptly hung up. Definitely a scam!

i got a call from a woman who sounded asian, went by the name jenny wilson. she told me that every time i get online, someone from california tries to hack into my router. when i asked how she could know that, all she did was repeat her claim. i told her i’d heard her but wanted to know the proof. she wouldn’t answer straight away and said i should be patient and she’d explain in a bit. yeah, no thanks!

I received a call from a chap claiming to be from BT, saying there were issues with my internet connection. Curiosity got the better of me, so I inquired about who my actual internet provider was, and just like that, he cut the line. Definitely a scam, if you ask me!

I received a call from this number at precisely 11 o'clock on the 8th of January 2018. When I answered, there was a brief moment of silence, and then a woman's voice simply said "Goodbye" before hanging up. Quite strange, if you ask me!

It keeps ringing and nobody bothers to say a word! How frustrating!

I got a call like this before - just silence for about 20 seconds then some robotic voice saying goodbye. Definitely one of those annoying nuisance calls.

Got a ring from 02049576243 today. When I answered, there was nothing but silence for nearly 20 seconds. Then, out of nowhere, a woman’s voice came on with a recorded message saying goodbye, and the call just cut off. Pretty sure it was one of those automatic dialler things from some call centre.

Yet another dodgy character falsely claiming to be affiliated with BT, as mentioned previously.

I received a call from a chap with what seemed like an Indian accent, claiming to represent BT. When I mentioned that we're actually with Virgin Media, he insisted that Virgin relies on the BT infrastructure and that there was an issue with my IP address. Quite interestingly, he mentioned that my computer was being monitored from Mountain View, California - not too shocking considering that’s where Google is based! He then suggested that he needed to temporarily disconnect my internet to resolve the so-called issue. He went on to instruct me to access the command prompt by pressing CTRL+R and so forth. At that juncture, I decided to look up the information online to check if this was indeed a scam. That's when he abruptly terminated the call.

Got a call from some Asian bloke claiming he was with BT. Told him I wasn’t interested and asked him to stop bothering me. Then about 10 minutes later, another call came through. After a minute or so, all I heard was a machine saying goodbye. Pretty annoying if you ask me.

I just got a call from a woman with an Asian accent who said her name was Jenny Wilson (supposedly). She claimed there was an issue with my BT router, which was odd because I don’t even own one! Very suspicious indeed.

My dad got a call today luckily i was around. They tried pushing him to pay £5 once from his card but i stopped it quick cos he’s with bt and all his payments go through direct debit anyway. Feels like they’re targeting older folks sadly. The bloke on the phone said his name was oscar and he had an indian accent.

I've received multiple calls from this number in the past few days. Usually, there's just silence on the other end, but once, a woman's voice broke the quiet to utter "Goodbye" before hanging up abruptly! Quite perplexing, isn't it?

these idiots from india keep bothering my mum, pretending to be from bt and saying they can fix her connection which isn't even bt. they wanted to get teamviewer access to her stuff but she was smart enough to say no. told her to tell the tosser to ring me if he tries again. honestly can't wait for that to happen.

They rang me for the second time today claiming to be from BT. I ended up keeping them chatting for about five minutes, just messing about to see how long they’d hang around. Eventually I got fed up and told them exactly what I thought. Honestly, if you didn’t reckon it was a scam, it could've been pretty risky.

I received a phone call from a woman who had quite a thick Indian accent, claiming her name was Jenny and that she was representing BT. When I informed her that I didn’t subscribe to their services, she replied that it was of no consequence. She then claimed I was being monitored online from California and insisted I should open Google so she could provide me with a specific address to uncover their identity. Curious, I asked which device I should use to go online, and I said I didn’t use anything to access the internet. That’s when she abruptly ended the call. Clearly, this was nothing but a scam.

After answering the landline, there was a slight hesitation before the caller mentioned some impending issues with our BT service in the coming days. Naturally curious, I probed a bit further, asking if he was indeed representing BT and requested him to drop me an email detailing the situation. At that point, he abruptly hung up on me. Quite suspicious, I must say!
