I had no clue who was calling. The caller ID displayed a number I didn't recognise, so I opted not to pick up the phone.

I received a call from someone claiming to be with Domestic & General. They first inquired whether I was part of the senior citizen community, then proceeded to ask about my relationship status—whether I was married or single! Quite an unusual line of questioning, if you ask me.

The number didn’t appear on my BT Call Guardian, so I can only presume it’s some sort of scammer or possibly a call centre. I’ve gone ahead and blocked it.

I tried ringing this 0204 number, but there was no response. It seems dodgy, as that prefix isn't in use in London at the moment. Definitely looks like a scam to me!

Received a call during my lunch break – complete silence on the other end!

This week, I've received three calls, and the first one was from some rather insistent bloke. I recognised immediately that it was a scam, so I just hung up. The other two calls were a bit peculiar as well – the line went completely silent when I answered.

For the past two days, I’ve received calls from this number, but they hang up as soon as I pick up. Quite peculiar!

Claimed to be representing a company called Smiley Network, offering discounted insurance for washing machines! Definitely a scam aiming to fish for your banking information! I promptly ended the call!

I rang up my mum’s house and picked up the call, said a quick hello, and then—poof—silence. Really just a bit of a pest of a number, if you ask me.

I've received an overwhelming ten phone calls within just three days! Each time I picked up, there was a baffling five seconds of quiet on the other end before they disconnected. Quite the peculiar experience, I must say!

I received a couple of calls from this number within the space of an hour. Each time I picked up, there was silence on the other end before they hung up. This sort of thing could really rattle someone who lives alone or is easily anxious.

I received a call from an overseas chap who surprisingly knew my first name. He started chatting about Christmas and that festive period, even offering me a complimentary Christmas tree! I mentioned that I already had one, especially since his offer was free of charge, and asked him why I’d need another. He didn’t seem to appreciate my response and abruptly ended the call. How cheeky!

A gentleman with an accent that seemed to be Asian called me earlier, inquiring about which bank I was associated with. I told him I wasn't inclined to chat about that sort of thing and promptly ended the call.

That number isn’t even a legitimate UK one. When you attempt to call it, you only get as far as dialling 0204 before being met with an automated message stating that the number can’t be found! What a bother!

I received a call from a lady with an Asian accent who was urging me to enhance my nuisance call service. When I inquired what exactly that entailed, I politely declined and hung up.

Received a call from a woman with a distinctly Asian accent discussing appliance insurance. It’s clear this is a scam as she mentioned someone I’ve never heard of and claimed they sourced my details from their records!
