2 yearsI got a call tonight on my mobile from someone saying I had to upgrade my SIM because it was going to be deactivated soon. They said they were from O2 or Virgin. I told them I wasn’t with O2, and they asked which provider I used. I didn’t really want to say, so I just said it wasn’t any of their business. The person insisted their assistant says I’m with O2, but I kept telling them I wasn’t. Eventually, they said sorry and hung up. The caller spoke with a really noticeable Indian accent, so I could tell straight away it was probably a scam.O2Virgin2 yearsGot a call from this number saying they were from Vodafone customer service. They told me because I’ve been a loyal customer for years, they wanted to give me a 30% discount on my bill, which sounded great at first. But then they said I had to download an updated My Vodafone app through a link they’d send me and asked for my security pin to get into my account. That’s when I knew it was dodgy - Vodafone has never asked me for my PIN before and only ever sends an OTP code. I told them this and they just hung up straight away. Proper sneaky and well done for catching people out!Vodafone2 yearsGot a ring from this number saying they were from Virgin/O2 trying to pitch me an upgrade. Told them it’s a work phone, so not my decision. They kept pushing the upgrade, and I had to repeat it’s a business line and not under my control (all legit). Seemed to annoy them, and they hung up swearing 😂 Totally sounds like a scam to me.Virgin / O22 yearsGot a call from this number on my phone but it was off at the time. Beware!2 yearsIn the last 45 minutes, we've received a couple of calls claiming to be from O2. Funny enough, we actually spoke with O2 ourselves earlier today after we gave them a ring first.O2Submit Your Own Report (020 4603 3582)
