Got a call from some dodgy heating firm asking for my bank info - best steer clear of them!

Scam alert - My elderly mum, who’s 87, got a call from someone claiming to be from Nationwide Heating saying they were taking over her British Gas Homecare deal. They already had her name and address but asked for her bank details and DOB to arrange a direct debit. She ended up giving them the info. When she told me I looked up the number online and found out it was a fraud. I then got in touch with her bank straight away to inform them. It’s really upsetting to see these scammers preying on older people like this, they’re really scraping the bottom of the barrel.
