I get calls nearly every day from what seems like the same number, but the last few digits change each time. It’s clearly scammers hiding behind a London area code - which is easy enough since anyone can get one off the internet. Honestly, it baffles me why these people aren’t tracked down and held accountable!

Got a call around 10 minutes back with someone chatting about rising energy prices and the cost of living issues. I replied with a bit of sarcasm like, "Oh, really? Haven't seen that myself." Then he mentioned I could get £40 knocked off my next bill. I told him I wasn’t interested and suspected if I gave in, he’d probably nick more than that. Ended up blocking the number straight away.

I got a ring from someone saying they were from UK Call Guard. They claimed they could stop a £7 a month fee I’m apparently being charged and offer me a way to block all those annoying calls. They insisted I wasn’t paying anything, but I know I am paying that fee, so they told me my service provider must be ripping me off. Said they’ll call again soon.
