3 yearsI received a call claiming I was eligible for a complimentary upgrade on my EE contract to the newest iPhone model. When I told the caller I wasn’t keen, he seemed rather deflated and just replied with a rather abrupt "ok, bye then." Quite suspicious, if you ask me-probably just a scam!EE3 yearsI recently spotted an advert on telly for a wordsearch contest that had no entry fee, which asked participants to solve a puzzle related to a well-known television programme. The answer, as it turned out, was COUNTDOWN. I was instructed to text my answer, along with my postcode, house number, and name. Today, I received a call from the number mentioned above, claiming that I had won £20,000 and an additional sum of £19,000 (if memory serves me right). They mentioned that they'd be sending the prize via Royal Mail but informed me I’d need to cover a £1.95 postage fee. At that moment, my suspicions were raised, and I refused to provide any payment information, suspecting it might be a scam.COUNTDOWNRoyal Mail3 yearsBeware of this one! It’s a dodgy spam call that provides a number for inquiries, but when you try to ring it, you’ll find it’s not a valid line at all.
