DON’T YOU THINK IF BT CAN TRACK DOWN THE FIRMS BEHIND THESE NUMBERS, THEY COULD BLOCK THEM FROM USING BT LINES? UNLESS IT'S THAT THESE ANNOYING SCAM CALLS ACTUALLY BRING IN EXTRA CASH FOR BT AND ITS SHAREHOLDERS. REALLY, BT SHOULD BE THE ONLY ONES ALLOWED TO CREATE AND ASSIGN PHONE NUMBERS. I’VE MENTIONED THIS FOR YEARS, BUT IT SEEMS LIKE BT LETS IT SLIDE FOR SOME MONEY REASON, LEAVING US TO DEAL WITH CONSTANT SCAMMERS AND HASSLE. AS FOR ME, THEY HUNG UP BEFORE I COULD SAY ANYTHING.

I got calls from this number like seven times all in one day, and after looking it up, it’s obvious it’s a scam.

They called me like six times during the day but never said anything or left a message. Ended up blocking the number.

I got a few calls, maybe six or so, before I picked up. When I did, an automated voice said something like, "Hi, we're reaching out about a question you asked. Please ring us back so we can assist." Bit odd, really.

This bloke said he was calling from some government aid program and claimed my house might qualify for £30,000 to do up the place. I wasn’t having any of it, told him I didn’t think that was right and just hung up. Pretty sure it was just another dodgy scam.

Heads up, this looks like one of those scams where they try and trick you into handing over your cash. Best not to pick up at all.

Somebody rang me saying they were from Equal Grant Direct or something like that, bit hard to make out completely. They said they were checking if I could get a grant up to £30,000. They already had my name, address, and number, but I never gave them any details. They started asking if I was on any benefits. After about five minutes, which included me putting the phone down for a moment, I told them I wasn’t interested and ended the call.
