Whenever I get a call from a number I don’t know on my landline, I jot it down first. Then I turn off the caller ID on my mobile and call the number myself to see what happens. Just got hit by one of those solar panel scams, so I reported it to 7726 and blocked the number straight away. I also messaged my local MP asking two things: why can’t we report scam calls directly through the police's 'action fraud' portal anymore?
