Just prior to the greeting, I picked up an odd beep followed by a voice saying, “Hello, this is Sky Mobile.” I don’t even have an account with Sky - I'm with a different provider altogether. The chap spoke with an Indian accent, and I could tell right away it was a dodgy call. Total scam!

I'm inundated with daily phone calls, often several times throughout the day, from an Indian call centre claiming to represent 3. The rather baffling thing is, I don’t even have an account with them! It’s becoming incredibly annoying, especially when I'm at work, and they just won’t take ‘no’ for an answer!

Received a peculiar message supposedly from 3, regarding my phone update. They requested my bank account details and sort code, as well as my card number for an upfront payment of £35. I wasn't having any of it, so I declined. Interestingly, they also followed up with an email that appeared to be from 3. I've gone ahead and sent this on to the 3 customer service team for verification. Thankfully, I haven't parted with any cash!

Received a rather odd call from 0204 579 5758. The bloke on the line didn’t have a clue who I was but insisted he was ringing from Three, my former network provider. He went on about some fantastic deal for Three, but I’ve moved on from them ages ago. Out of the blue, he asked for my one-time password, which I flatly refused to provide. His tone turned rather impatient, and before I knew it, he hung up. Quite the cheek, if you ask me!

Fraudsters - they pretended to be from O2, saying they had to switch my SIM card.

It’s quite apparent that this is a scam operation. These dodgy call centres seem to be in cahoots, and once they catch wind that you’re onto their little game, you rarely get bothered by their calls. I’m only 24, yet I’m well aware of the tricks they pull. If you give them the impression that you’re savvy to their schemes, you’ll find that the nuisance of scam calls dissipates completely.
