It keeps calling me but when I answer there’s just silence and then they hang up.

For the last few weeks I keep getting calls from these numbers and every time I check, Google says they’re probably scams. The numbers are +44 141 280 8558, +44 20 4579 5012, +44 20 3808 9250, and +44 1792 917895. Pretty annoying!

I keep receiving calls from this number, yet when I attempt to return the call, I'm met with a message stating that the line is out of service. How perplexing! 😩

If we truly want to put an end to all those pesky scam calls and dodgy messages, then it’s high time we take matters into our own hands: REPORT THEM! Any fraudulent emails or screenshots of other unsavoury messages should be sent over to '[email protected]'. As for those deceitful texts, simply forward them to '7726'. Remember, clicking on a dodgy link could spell trouble and might just unleash malware on your device. If you receive scam calls, text CALL to '7726' with all the details, including the offender's number, so your phone provider can issue an alert across their network. Don’t hesitate to raise your voice with your MP about these incessant scams! If you’ve accidentally given your banking details to these crooks, get in touch with your bank without delay. Then take the next steps: report it to ‘action fraud’, notify ‘7726’, and perhaps share your experience on this platform. I received a call from an unknown number claiming that my bank account had been charged £900. They prompted me to "press one for help," but upon checking my bank statements, it turned out to be utter nonsense. I've since blocked the number and reported it. They urged me to complete a form on my computer or phone, but I refused and requested they send me the information by post instead. I mentioned that I would be reporting this to my credit card provider and the authorities. Suddenly, the line went silent. It’s quite alarming to receive such calls, and I feel it's imperative that these kinds of scams are addressed promptly. As a result, I'm seriously considering stopping all my online transactions.

Absolutely a despicable scam! They've been banging on about some dodgy bank PPI, claiming they've secured a whopping £2550 plus an additional £1550 in interest from my non-existent bank. When I cheekily told them my bank was the "Bank of Paris" - a total fabrication, mind you - they didn’t bat an eyelid! They then provided me with a reference and ID number, insisting they wouldn't ask for any bank or card info. But here's the kicker: they mentioned the money was supposedly in a "wallet." Next, they shuffled me off to another chap, who seemed to be from Asia. He requested the ID and reference numbers again, and I decided to throw him a curveball with incorrect details. Clearly flustered, he then asked for my phone number to verify these numbers. After providing what I assumed were the right ones, he sent me even more references that were completely different! He had the gall to say I wasn’t tech-savvy and promised to help me access this mysterious wallet. Then, bizarrely, he instructed me to switch my phone to loudspeaker - for what reason, I couldn’t fathom - and directed me to download some app called Anydesk from the Play Store. This would have granted him remote access to my device, likely to pilfer sensitive information like banking details, passwords, and all that. These blighters must be brought to justice! It’s crucial we report such phishing attempts to the police and the Financial Conduct Authority.

Things took a turn when they passed me along to another chap with a strong accent, who seemed quite confused when I tossed him the erroneous reference numbers. He then had the gall to ask for my phone number to verify those bits-complete madness! Before I knew it, he reeled off another set of identification and reference numbers, stating these were the correct ones, though they were entirely unlike the previous ones! He had the nerve to suggest I struggled with technology and offered to guide me on how to access this mysterious wallet. Then came the bizarre request to put my phone on loudspeaker (what was all that about?) and to hop onto the Play Store to download an app called Anydesk, which would allow him remote access to my phone-clearly a sly ruse to swipe my banking info, identity, passwords, and everything under the sun. It’s critical we take action against these lowlifes; report such nonsense to the police, the Financial Conduct Authority, and use the text hotline 7726 for phishing concerns!

I’ve encountered some dodgy dealings linked to Amazon Prime-definitely a case of banking fraud. Save yourself the hassle, just block the number and report it straightaway!
