I received a rather strange call today. The person on the line claimed to know my name and informed me that I’d won a Coca-Cola fridge-only I hadn’t entered any competition. When I brought this up, she reassured me that everything was above board and that my information was safe with them. I couldn’t help but chuckle and wished her the best of luck with her next call, then promptly hung up. Quite the amusing encounter, really!

I've just been contacted by some sort of cold caller who’s offering me a supposed ten free Euro Millions numbers shared amongst 150 people. Here’s the catch: they want me to set up a recurring payment of £39 a month for one chosen set of numbers, claiming that I’ll receive a staggering 390 sets within a syndicate. However, they only distribute the winnings if my share exceeds £20. If, by chance, I hit the jackpot tomorrow and don’t see a penny, I’ll definitely invoke my right to the 14-day cooling off period and pull out. For anyone else in the same situation, remember to cancel your direct debit with your bank too, and perhaps even get a new card for your own peace of mind. They merely need my sort code, account number, and name-never share your full 16-digit card number or the security code from the back! If I don't manage to win over £20 tomorrow, rest assured I’ll be cancelling right after the draw this evening.

This number wouldn't stop calling me, so eventually I picked up. The person on the other end claimed I'd joined a competition, but I'm certain that’s not the case. I decided to hang up the phone.

Just as I picked up the phone, the caller hung up without uttering a word. It leaves me wondering what on earth that was all about! I can’t stand these irritating calls!

Received three calls today from this number. When I picked up, the caller informed me that I had progressed to a qualifying stage in a competition I had entered back on 28th May. They claimed I would receive ten complimentary lines for the EuroMillions, as well as multiple lines for the lottery and Euro for the upcoming month-all for a fee of £39.95. They assured me that if I didn't win anything, my payment would be refunded. However, as soon as I expressed my unease with the whole proposition, they abruptly ended the call. Just a word of caution, steer clear of sharing any personal information with this number!

Received a call asking for my BSB and account number to supposedly “set up the logistics for receiving funds if I were to win a lottery draw tonight.” This was supposedly in connection with a competition I entered for Center Parcs. They seemed to have collected quite a bit of personal information already, including my phone number, name, home address, date of birth, and email. I chose not to provide any banking information and ended the call. Please, be wary and don’t share any of your financial details with these callers!
