Absolutely dodgy competition! It's clear it’s nothing but a scam.

I received a call declaring that I had won some sort of contest and that I could expect an array of emails packed with vouchers soon. Shortly after, the caller requested six digits to secure ten complimentary entries into a lottery. As if that wasn't enough, they boldly asked for my sort code and account number to supposedly transfer my 'winnings’. I insisted on receiving a cheque instead, reminding them that they already had my address. The caller repeatedly tried to manipulate me into divulging my details, claiming that anyone knowledgeable about cheques would know those numbers are printed on them. I chuckled and pointed out that the details should indeed be on the cheque if it were meant for me. After that, they abruptly ended the call.

I came across an advertisement from Aldi inviting folks to trial an electric bike, so naturally, I filled out my information to take part. After completing the signup, I was hit with a request for £1.50 to £2.50 for each text message. They bombard you with five messages every week! To top it off, I received a phone call about this Aldi competition, where the caller informed me that I'd supposedly won among a staggering 150,000 participants! Astonishing, right? They even claimed I had ten lottery tickets and asked me for my bank details to sort out my winnings. I promptly told them I’d only provide such information after I had actually won something. Guess what? They hung up on me! I've tried contacting them twice already.

I received a call claiming I'd entered a contest for a gift voucher. Truth be told, I hadn't signed up for anything. So, I politely declined and ended the call. It felt like one of those dodgy scam attempts, to be honest.
