This morning at precisely 8.45am, my phone rang with a call from the number 020 4549 9792. The caller claimed to represent Amazon, asserting that an order for an £800 mobile phone had been placed under my name. They told me to press 2 if I wanted to cancel the supposed order. I found it all rather dubious and terminated the call.

I seem to be receiving calls from this individual nearly every day, yet they never leave a voicemail. I've lodged complaints both with TPF and the ICO, but nothing seems to change. I feel quite uneasy and rather put upon by this person. My suspicion is that it could be someone I've communicated with in the past who asked me to get in touch with "the owner of the business." I was quite irate during our last conversations, explaining repeatedly that there’s no business here! Now it seems like they might be retaliating by ringing me and hanging up as soon as my answerphone picks up. The caller ID confirms it’s the same number every time, which only adds to my frustration.
