Some bloke from India called Brian Gibson claimed I could get a brand new iPhone 12 for £40. He wanted loads of my personal info, but I got suspicious and didn’t share my bank details. Sounds fishy to me. When I called the number back, someone answered saying it was Carphone Warehouse in London. Might be worth looking into.

Absolutely a fraudulent call. When I picked up, a chap with a thick Indian accent was jabbering on about a mobile phone contract. The line was dreadful, all crackly and full of noise, making it nearly impossible to comprehend what he was saying. He then rudely pressed for details about my network provider. I didn’t waste a second and hung up right away.

Received a call from this number on Good Friday, so it’s clear it’s not a local UK enterprise. I wouldn't be surprised if it’s one of those auto-dialling scams, as I didn’t pick up immediately and when I finally did, the line was silent.

I had a rather peculiar encounter with a woman from India who had a thick accent, attempting to pull the wool over my eyes while claiming to be affiliated with Carphone Warehouse. She had the audacity to offer me an iPhone 12 Pro Max for a mere £35! How amusing, considering I already possess that very model and don’t even have my phone contract with EE or Vodafone. What's more, she insisted she was employed at the head office of Carphone Warehouse somewhere in West London. The poor woman seemed oblivious to the fact that she needed my bank details to process the “order” for the phone, which she claimed would arrive tomorrow-never mind that tomorrow is a bank holiday! Quite the misguided attempt, isn’t it?

The person on the line sounded like they were from India or somewhere nearby, speaking really broken English and the call was crackly as well.
