Totally a scam. I tried to set up McAfee antivirus, but it came up with an error message saying a tech would ring me to sort it out. A bloke did call and started asking me to install some apps so he could control my laptop remotely. I felt something was off and luckily didn’t go along with it.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent saying he was from McAfee tech support. He told me my computer was full of Trojans and demanded payment to clear them up. What really spooked me was that I’d first rung McAfee’s official number, 0800 028 7581, but the call just dropped. Then, out of nowhere, I got a call back from 0204 577 1039! Felt like a proper scam, honestly.

Got a call from someone claiming to be an IT technician, but I’m sure it was a scam. He started asking me for money, which is a big red flag. When I mentioned I’d get in touch with my own IT guy, he got rude with me. He even tried to say I was the one being scammed! The voice on the phone sounded like it could’ve been Indian or from somewhere in Asia.
