A few months back, I ventured into a trading platform for a brief period but, disheartened by my experience, I decided to withdraw my modest investment and put an end to my account. It wasn’t long before I began receiving calls from numbers that appeared to be London-based but seemed rather fishy-complete with the sound of what one might imagine a bustling stock exchange to sound like in the background. They addressed me as Mr. so and so, claiming I had over five thousand still languishing in my account. Since they were 'winding up' their operations, they insisted on sending my funds and encouraged me to download some obscure app. Please, whatever you do, don’t be taken in by this ruse! I can't fathom how they obtained my personal details-my name and number-but it’s likely many others have fallen prey to this scam as well. Despite my insistence that my account is non-existent with nothing left in it, they continued to press, assuring me that there was money waiting to be claimed. Ultimately, I grew weary and told them to keep the funds and to refrain from contacting me again. Yet, the calls persist, ringing in nearly twice a week. Be vigilant, particularly with numbers that share the same prefix (+44 20 4577...) as I encountered. As I don't reside in the UK, I'm providing the full prefix for context.
