Had a rather curious encounter with an Indian woman claiming to represent Right Energy, part of some UK-based wholesale energy operation. When I probed her about her location, she maintained she was in Birmingham. After toying with her for a good ten minutes, I decided to drop a mention about the Bull Ring. It was clear she hadn't the faintest idea what I was on about, especially when I cheekily suggested that must be where she was sourcing the nonsense she was peddling! She then backtracked and revealed she was actually in Kolkata, not Birmingham at all. Promised to shoot me an email with further details and mentioned she would ring me back tomorrow. I told her I’d be in London dealing with some police matters regarding Indian call centre scams, and just like that, the line went dead. Funny, that!

This is the fourth call I've had today alone! When will the telecom bosses in the UK finally stop handing out phone numbers to just anyone? It’s getting proper annoying - these calls are just pestering us constantly. We depend on our landline for work, and nearly every ring is someone like this, as others have said too. I've got better stuff to do than waste time picking up these calls. Now, if the number seems to be from a UK city, I just don’t answer. BT, Openreach, and BTL need to get their act together and fix this mess! I’m blocking every single one of them.

Heads up, everyone! Avoid getting caught up in this dodgy car accident con! Some charlatan attempted to swindle my bank info by claiming he was going to forward me the insurance payout for a crash I supposedly had. As soon as I mentioned that I don’t even own a vehicle, he promptly cut the call. Quite the shady character!

Malwarebytes on my phone blocked the call. This number has rung me a couple of times before, but with small variations in the digits.

Just like everyone else said, it's a total car crash scam. Funny thing is, I don’t even hold a driving licence! These folks really will try any trick. I’ve gone ahead and blocked their number now.

Sorry for the late reply, I didn’t think anyone was picking up. Just to clear things up, I was involved in a car crash and I don’t actually drive. Told them to take my number off their list.
