Like a few others here, I cancelled my My Heritage account just yesterday and this number has rung me twice already. I'm guessing they're trying to tempt me back with some deals but I didn’t pick up.

Just like the other replies here, I received a call from this number not long after I logged into MyHeritage again after a long break. But are we totally certain this is a scam and not someone actually from them? If it’s about trying to sell subscriptions or plans, that’s a bit irritating, but labelling it as a ‘scam’ or ‘fraud’ might make people overlook the real fraudulent calls out there.

This number called me yesterday and again today, but they didn’t leave any voicemail. After looking at the reviews here, it seems I must’ve signed up for MyHeritage at some point too. I usually don’t pick up if I don’t recognise the number - safer that way, in my opinion.

I was just looking at my DNA results on My Heritage when I got a call from this number. It appeared as 020 45717811 on my phone and was marked as Suspected Scam, so I didn’t answer, hoping for a voicemail - but nothing came through. I then searched the number online and found this site with loads of people saying the same thing, like they’d been on the site and then got a call. Why isn’t My Heritage doing more to keep us safe from these scammers? Feels like they’re just handing our info out. Seriously, this needs to be put to an end.

Over the weekend someone hacked My Heritage and managed to take £219 from my bank through PayPal, which I’ve never even used. Luckily, the money was refunded yesterday. Now, I’ve got a couple of missed calls from this number. I haven’t picked up, but from the messages I saw, it seems like the same person trying to scam me.

About my heritage, I told my missus when I checked my family tree that I’d get a phone call soon and, strange as it sounds, the call actually came. It’s not a scam or anything, but it can get a bit annoying since every time you log in, they ring to push you into signing up again.

How did they get that info? Is My Heritage sharing our details with others or what?! The call came in today, 15th May 2023. The caller was a man with an American accent. Then he started talking about sorting something out with Amazon? That made no sense at all, so I ended the call straight away. What’s Amazon got to do with this?

Got a call from someone pretending to be MyHeritage, which is pretty worrying. It’s scary to think they might be paying for accounts and digging through family trees to find folks to scam. It’s making me rethink whether I want to keep using that site at all, and I’m seriously thinking about deleting all my info. Building a family tree just isn’t worth putting your family’s privacy at risk.

They were pushing me to share my personal info and sign up for their service. It seemed dodgy when they kept pressing for my details, especially since I never gave them my number in the first place. I looked into it and found out this is actually a known trick scammers use to get hold of people’s private data and commit identity theft.

This guy rung up saying he was from My Heritage, calling from Israel. He mentioned I was paying for some kind of family tree and documents, and said he could get the same stuff cheaper. I’m always suspicious of cold calls, so I asked him to email me the details, but he said he couldn’t do that. Instead, he told me to check the website for offers. I told him I was busy and couldn’t chat, but he kept pushing and I agreed to a callback, even though I wasn’t planning to answer. Now I’m getting calls from a number with no caller ID, so there’s no way I’m picking up.

Honestly, just take your time and scroll through the last couple of pages here before you do anything. Don’t ever hand over any details to someone calling out of the blue. Not even say yes to your name. Spend a few mins going over the posts and it might save you loads of stress later on.

NOT MyHeritage. It's a total con. Here’s how you can easily report all scam calls, texts, emails, and other frauds through the police-run system (NFIB). When I raised the issue about the loads of scam calls I kept getting with my MP, they told me to use this. Scammers definitely don’t want this info to be common knowledge. If you don’t report these scams, don’t expect it to stop. Reporting to 7726, your phone company, Ofcom or the companies the scammers pretend to be helps a bit, but none of these reports usually get passed on to the police for a proper criminal inquiry.

Some bloke called me using his computer so he couldn’t give me a callback number, but I punched in 1471 and got 02045 717 811. He’d somehow hacked my ‘My Heritage’ right after I’d done a bit of digging. Seemed to know loads about my membership! Tried to get me to upgrade but wouldn’t share any details unless I gave more info first. I ended the chat and contacted My Heritage straight away. Totally a scam or something dodgy.
