Got a call from someone trying to scam me about trading stuff. They asked loads of questions, trying to get info. Definitely don't give them anything, it’s a total con!

I got a call where they used a name I had on Facebook, but it’s completely made up. Seemed really dodgy to me. As soon as I told them they had the wrong person, they just ended the call straight away. Really fishy behaviour.

My phone just drops all unknown numbers straight to voicemail with no message left. After seeing what others are saying here, I’m pretty convinced this is spam or some sort of scam. Feels a bit worrying to me.

I got a call from a company called ETA Services Ltd (their site’s https://etaltd.io/). They couldn’t say where they got my phone number from, which makes me think they just purchased some kinda phone list. When I asked them how they got my info and if they had consent, they just wouldn’t answer properly or even tell me their full company name. Best steer clear of these guys.

I received a rather dodgy call from this number earlier today, where the chap on the other end blabbed on about trading and stocks, claiming I had submitted my number on their website - which, I assure you, I did not. Naturally, I pressed him for details about who they were, but he was annoyingly vague. Eventually, he dumped me onto some so-called ‘specialist’ who was meant to enlighten me. When I asked where he was based, he mentioned a company name so bland it has already slipped my mind, something like ‘Investment Services Corp’ - utterly forgettable! I firmly told this bloke that I wasn’t keen on their calls at all, as I have no recollection of giving out my information, nor do I have any interest whatsoever in stocks. This rather brash individual persisted in arguing, stating, “How can you be uninterested in something you haven’t learned about yet?” I repeated my disinterest, insisting I didn’t want to engage with them about any of this. We had an interminable back-and-forth for a good five minutes, with him insisting that I was intrigued, despite my multiple objections. I demanded he remove my details from their records, to which he bluntly replied, ‘No!’ I was flabbergasted - I reiterated that I wanted no connection with them, and his response was as infuriating as it was ridiculous: “So why did you submit your details, then?” I stated once more for the record that I expected no further contact. But rather than getting the hint, he cheekily quipped, “It sounds like you’re having an off day, I’ll ring back when you’re feeling better.” I nearly burst out laughing at his audacity and told him to reconsider, warning him that further calls would only lead to serious repercussions. To that, he simply said, “Alright, madam, I hear you.” I hung up exasperated, but I’m now left wondering if he’ll have the nerve to call again - it could be jolly amusing to waste his time even further!

Got called about some online trading thing, and they wouldn't let me hang up no matter what. Proper annoying and felt like a total scam. They didn't say anything about what company they were from or where they even were based. Kept pushing me to speak to some "financial expert" they had. Honestly, one of the dodgiest calls I've had in ages.

I was approached by someone trying to persuade me into Online Trading. The initial chap was rather abrasive when I declined, which was quite off-putting. Even after I explained I was busy and not keen, he persisted and handed me over to a woman. I reiterated my disinterest to her as well, and after a bit of to-and-fro, she said she'd ring me back later.

I received a call from someone claiming to be from an online trading firm, presuming I was already familiar with their services. When I clarified that I had no knowledge of online trading and wasn't at all interested, they seemed to take delight in explaining the concept to me anyway. Despite their insistence that they weren’t trying to sell anything and just needed a mere five minutes of my time, I firmly told them I was still uninterested and had an upcoming appointment. Even then, they wouldn’t let up, asking me to reconsider and not hang up. Honestly! I will not be swayed by such calls. I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service to prevent these nuisances, but it appears that’s been a fruitless endeavour.

They somehow get your name, probably from some shady source on the dark web. Then they say you signed up for some online stock trading thing. If you ask them where they got your info or any details about themselves, they’ll swerve the questions. Best to not share any personal info at all, just end the call quick and block the number. It’s clear they’re trying to pull off some kind of trading scam online.

Someone called me mentioning online trading and said they were from 'London', called me by my name too. When I tried to find out who they actually were, they kept avoiding my questions. Asked them which company they worked for, no straight answer. When I pressed where they got my phone number from, they claimed I had submitted some form online. Then I asked if they could send me an email for details and they just said they don't do emails. I ended the call right there. Honestly, felt super dodgy and risky.

Today, I had the peculiar experience of receiving a phone call from an exceedingly articulate gentleman who was extolling the virtues of online trading. He made a rather bold claim that I could dive in with just a tenner and with his guidance, I could dramatically increase my earnings.
