Reports on phone number 02045716490
2 yearsI received a phone call from a woman with an Asian accent, claiming to be from EE, saying they could lower my monthly bill to £16 as part of a special promotion. She wanted my name and email address for verification purposes, but I refrained from sharing any personal information. Apparently, she claimed they would send me a confirmation email followed by a text once the promotion was active on my mobile. I told her I would contact EE directly to confirm this promotion instead. She insisted I ring 02081333669, stating it was their promotions department. Naturally, my curiosity led me to look up that number, and it appeared to be linked to several scams, yet I decided to call anyway. When I got through, I spoke to a bloke on the other end; it was suspiciously quiet-no sounds of a bustling call centre, which raised my suspicions further. I began to interrogate him with my questions. When I probed about whether the woman needed my details to verify who I was or because she simply lacked that information, he first claimed they did have my details but needed to confirm them, then awkwardly backtracked, confessing they actually didn’t, leaving him quite flustered. He ended the call abruptly. This is undoubtedly a scam; I urge everyone to be cautious and guard your personal information.EE2 yearsI received a call from this number, but it showed up as potential spam, so I didn’t pick up.
