The caller insisted that I was owed a refund and that, in order to process it, he needed remote access to my computer. Curious, I inquired why he couldn't simply transfer the funds directly to my bitcoin wallet. He responded that he required confirmation of my receipt, claiming that transactions via BTC don’t provide evidence of the recipient, which is indeed accurate. The chap was rather persuasive and even mentioned the exact amount I had deposited back in October, assuring me that it was slated for reimbursement.
