Somebody rang claiming to be with FX Prosperity, which is the forex broker I actually use. He said I had a refund waiting and needed to access my computer to sort the payment. When I asked why he couldn’t just send the money straight to my Bitcoin wallet, he said they had to prove the funds were received by me, and that with BTC, it’s not possible to track the recipient. Fair point, I guess. He sounded pretty legit and even mentioned the exact amount I put in back in October, saying that would be returned to me. Right now, I’m trying to contact FX Prosperity myself to see if this is genuine or not.
