I received a call from someone trying to locate a name I didn’t recognise, and the number came up as ‘potential scammer’. So, I decided to have a bit of fun and rattled off a few sentences in my rather basic Italian, which clearly threw them off their game. In no time, they hung up in bewilderment! Classic! I promptly blocked and reported them too! 👍

Just received a dodgy call trying to fish for my banking information. Definitely smells like a scam! Be cautious, everyone!

I received a call from this number a short while ago, but they seemed unable to hear me and promptly ended the call. My phone provider flagged the number as likely spam. I can't say for certain what the purpose of the call was, but it feels rather dodgy to me.

I received a call from 118 wanting to have a word with the business owner.
I informed them that our fee is £75 for half an hour of commercial conversations. I politely requested their credit card details, or at least those of their manager, to proceed with the call.
And just like that, they disconnected! How incredibly impolite!

I received a call from a 118 number, but they hung up abruptly when I mentioned I wasn’t ready to make any financial commitments. Very odd!

What a right nuisance! These scammers have called me twice in as many days and when I inquired about their identity, they were incredibly vague. Why hasn’t BT cut them off yet? Perhaps it’s because they’re still forking out for their landline!

Completely pointless, just a jumble of spam.

Received a call claiming to be from 118 118, and they were after all sorts of personal details. I wasn’t having any of it, so I turned them down and blocked the number.

It’s likely just a sales pitch or possibly a scam. They dialled a number that’s part of a telephone switchboard, meaning it can’t receive direct calls. More than likely, they’re just auto-dialling a whole bunch of numbers at once.

It sounded like a call centre to me; I didn't stick around long enough to catch more than a simple 'hello'.
