I received a call claiming to be from EE, suggesting I could enjoy a complimentary upgrade on my plan. The accent was quite distinctly Indian! Just a word of caution - it feels like a scam!

Claimed to be from EE, ringing to provide me with a complimentary plan upgrade. The accent was quite thick, sounding distinctly Indian! Just a heads up-definitely dodgy!

Some bloke rang me and started with a hello, which I replied to. He mentioned being from some company, so I asked what company it was. He said it was a mobile phone firm. I told him I wasn’t interested, and then he just told me to "buzz off, just buzz off. Buzz off, buzz off," before cutting me off.

I answered the phone and all I heard was a sneeze, then it just went silent.

I picked up the phone and as soon as I said hello, they just ended the call, like seriously, what’s that about???

I got a call earlier from someone saying they were with O2 and could give me 30% off my bill. This was actually the second time today, but this time it was from a different phone number. When I asked who they were trying to reach, they just ended the call. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

Some bloke called "Nikkolay Georgios" got in touch, said he was from some Blockchain Fraud Recovery team, talking about a bitcoin investment I supposedly made back in 2016 (which I never did, but I played along). He then emailed me, but it was pretty obvious he just nicked info straight from the FCA website, basically accidentally admitting their firm was fake and just a copycat of a legit company! Made my research super quick! :)
