Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from Trust Telecom, working with Openreach. She even knew we had two phone lines and the numbers, saying we’d save money on calls soon. I asked how long they’d been partnered with Openreach, she said ages. Then when I asked how long she’d worked there, she claimed it was over four years. While she was trying to sell, I quickly checked Experian and found the company was only registered in November 2022. When I called her out on it, she suddenly cut the call!

This number has also rung us loads of times before but with no one speaking or the calls just dropping off. I reckon this was a scam call. It took ages for the line to connect after I answered. Then the person just straight up asked if I owned a business. I was a bit confused and said "sorry?" He repeated, kinda shouting, "MA'AM, ARE YOU THE BUSINESS OWNER?" I asked again, "Which business?" He just shouted the same question once more. If someone rings you saying they can cut your broadband and phone bills, DO NOT share any of your details. It’s definitely a scam. I got a call from the number 02045484221 around half past two in the afternoon. They claimed they could save me money but I saw straight through it. I got a call from this firm about electricity, and they kept saying it wasn’t a marketing call but it clearly was. I asked to talk to someone in charge of compliance in their marketing team and they connected me to a Robin Smith. I told him they hadn’t done their homework properly because their calling list wasn’t screened against the TPS register. I also mentioned I’m pretty sure there’s been a recent law here in the UK banning cold calls for utility services and suggested he double-check the facts.

They claimed to be from either Trust Telecom or Time Telecom Systems, but had a strong foreign accent that was hard to follow. Since the number is listed with the Telephone Preference Service to block spam calls, I’ve also put in a complaint with them about it.
