I can’t quite recall which energy company it was, but the caller had a foreign accent and somehow already knew my name. Today I got a couple of calls from 0204 542 0879. The first was from a woman, the second from a bloke named ‘Martin’. Both had heavy Asian accents and said they were with the Citizens Advice Bureau - though I know the real organisation doesn’t use ‘bureau’ anymore. When I asked what he wanted, Martin said he'd been 'notified' about me having debts I can’t manage. I told him he was clearly trying to scam me, warned I’d report him, then just cut the call off!
