Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent claiming my O2 contract was up and offering to sort a better deal. Told him I didn’t even have O2 and just kept him talking till he got annoyed and ended the call. Rang the number back and an English lady’s voice came on a recording saying it was about market research. Total scam, very dodgy. Blocked the number, reported it and wiped it off my phone.

Some bloke called saying he could give me a better deal on my O2 contract. I told him I wasn’t interested and asked nicely to take me off his calling list. Bet he’s not going to do that though - typical!

Watch out, it’s a scam! If you get dodgy calls or threatening messages, text CALL to 7726 straight away. Any nasty SMS or suspicious messages should be sent on to 7726 as well. If you get scam emails or texts, take a screenshot and email them to the UK cyber crime unit at '[email protected]' so they can investigate. And if you’ve accidentally given out your bank details, ring your bank immediately, then contact the fraud police: dial 101 if you’re in Scotland, or 03001232040 if you’re elsewhere in the UK. Absolutely infuriating phone call! The bloke claimed he was conducting a survey for a so-called market research firm. I’m rather sceptical about the legitimacy of it all, to be honest. Not entirely convinced it’s on the up and up.
