I got a call from someone saying they were from the sales team at 3. They wanted to know how much I pay for my contract. I told them if they were really with 3, they’d already have that info and I wasn’t going to share anything. They just ended the call right after that.

Received loads of calls from various numbers - always the same lady with an Indian accent, but the line is really fuzzy and hard to understand. They keep pushing fake discounts. Total scam, watch out! I’ve already reported this rubbish!

I picked up the phone and the caller was almost silent, but I caught them say my name. I asked "Sorry, who is this?" and the line just dropped straight away. The number looked like it was from London, but it was actually routed through some Irish firm called Twilio. Got it blocked now.

Somebody rang me from +44 20 4538 4195 but never said who they were. I’m not a fan of those calls where they just ask “How are you today?” without telling you their name or what they want, so I just ended the call straight away!

Total scam, don’t waste time - just block them straight away.

This was a guy who sounded like he was calling from one of those call centres, loads of background noise and a lag before he spoke. Said he was from Vodafone but I’m signed up to the TPS so I’m not meant to get calls like this. Told him to jog on and ended the call straight away. I’ve been caught out twice before because of some hack where my email and private info got leaked. Definitely putting his number on the block list now.

Got a call from someone saying they were with O2, offering a 40% cut on my bill because of some internet issues loads of customers were having. I was suspicious right away and mentioned I thought it might be a scam. The caller kept saying it wasn’t and even tried to pass me to their 'supervisor' to set up the discount, but I just ended the call there. After that I rang O2 myself, and they told me for sure it was a scam.

WATCH OUT, IT'S A TRICK! These calls are made by a computer that dials lots of numbers in order, just to find out which ones are actually answered by a person. If you pick up and say “Hello” or anything at all, your number gets marked as active and ends up with scammers who’ll try to rip you off. So the best advice? When you get a call from an unknown number, stay silent and wait for them to speak first. Only then decide if you want to respond or hang up straight away. ALWAYS BE CAREFUL AND ASSUME ANY STRANGE CALL COULD BE A SCAM!

I got a call from someone saying they were from Vodafone, saying I had unpaid bills. But it’s a scam, not really Vodafone. They try to scare you into handing over your bank or card info, probably hoping to nick loads of money. Watch out, it’s dodgy.
