I was attempting to hop onto the Argos website when my screen suddenly got hijacked by a message that looked like it was from "Windows Defender." An American voice boomed out, proclaiming, "your computer has been compromised," along with a stern warning not to switch off or restart the device. The screen presented me with two options: Deny or Allow. However, pressing Deny yielded no response, and I was decidedly reluctant to click Allow. It all felt rather dodgy - alarmingly realistic, to be honest. So, I grabbed another device to seek guidance and was advised to open Task Manager to close the browser session, which I promptly did. Thankfully, I now seem to have regained control. These scammers are certainly upping their game!
