Phone number ☎️ 02045256500 👆 is reported as a frequent source of scam calls in the UK, often impersonating major telecom providers such as O2, EE, Vodafone, or retailers like Currys PC World. Callers from this number use tactics like offering fake discounts, requesting one-time security codes, or sending unsolicited texts, aiming to trick recipients into revealing personal information. The calls often feature unclear or rapidly spoken English and may end abruptly if challenged. Although blocking the number is common advice, scammers typically change numbers frequently, making phone providers’ measures largely ineffective alone. Got a call from someone claiming to be o2 customer service, but we haven't got an account with them. It was actually a scammer from India. I just ended the call immediately, even though they kept ringing me back a couple of times. Planning to report it for sure.

On the 14th of March 2023, I got a call on my mobile from Voxbone SA, using the number 02045256500. Then, the very next day, the same company rang me again but this time from 02045258356.

“Simply disregarding it and blocking the number doesn’t make a jot of difference. They cycle through their phoney numbers thrice daily; if you manage to block one at 9 in the morning, expect a call from a different one by lunchtime. It’s high time the mobile networks took action against these fraudulent numbers!”

This bloke’s accent was pretty tough to get at first, he claimed he was ringing from EE to help lower my bills. I told him no thanks since we don’t even use EE, but he kept talking over me. Eventually I just said goodbye and ended the call. Honestly, these scammers getting hold of our details is getting out of hand, UK really needs to step up and crack down on this!

The bloke on the line had a really hard-to-follow accent and claimed he was from EE trying to help me save money. I told him we ain't even EE customers, so no thanks. Still, he kept talking over me, so I just said bye and ended the call. It's ridiculous how many scammers seem to have our info these days, seriously UK, it’s time to crack down on this!

I received a phone call from someone claiming to represent O2, who requested the security code they supposedly sent me. Please exercise caution! An authentic O2 representative would never ask you to disclose that code over the phone. Mark my words, this is definitely a fraudulent number!

Got a call again from some dodgy number pretending to be from urgent blood and transplant services. I reckon if you get calls like this, just block 'em straight away. Someone called pretending to be from O2 and said I could get a 40% discount. They asked me to give them a one-time password to access my account. An individual claiming to be a representative from O2, speaking with an Indian accent, rang me three days in a row. He also sent a couple of texts insisting on verifying his identity. Got a strange text from O2 just as this number kept ringing me. The message said something like: *SECURITY ALERT* Your one-time code will be sent soon. If anyone calls asking for that code, just hang up because they’re NOT from O2. If you think it's dodgy, ring them on 202 to keep your account safe. Looks very much like a scam to me, and a pretty clever one at that. Don’t hand over your info! O2 normally calls from an 08 or 03 number, or a local branch’s number, not random numbers like this.
