I tried ringing back and got the same strong accent again, so I reckon they’re forwarding calls to India. They insisted they were from Carphone Warehouse, but I’m not convinced. A quick search showed this number’s also been pretending to be Amazon. Pretty sure it’s a scam or some kind of fraud.

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise, left it to go to voicemail. Later on, I listened back and there was like a 50 second recording, with loads of chatting that sounded like a call centre or something.

I received a call from someone purporting to be from Carphone Warehouse based in London. The chap on the line had a distinctly pronounced Indian accent and inquired about my mobile network provider. He disconnected the line when I declined to divulge that information. When I attempted to call them back, the same individual insisted they were situated in London, yet their accent was even thicker, making it quite difficult to grasp what they were saying. They reiterated their affiliation with Carphone Warehouse. Interestingly, I've come across reports from others who have said this number claims to represent Amazon. Even though the caller ID shows a London area code, I suspect this could actually be a call centre operating out of India.
