I tried ringing back and got the same strong accent again, so I reckon they’re forwarding calls to India. They insisted they were from Carphone Warehouse, but I’m not convinced. A quick search showed this number’s also been pretending to be Amazon. Pretty sure it’s a scam or some kind of fraud.

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise, left it to go to voicemail. Later on, I listened back and there was like a 50 second recording, with loads of chatting that sounded like a call centre or something.

Received a call from someone saying they were from Carphone Warehouse in London. The person spoke with a very thick Indian accent and asked what mobile network I used. When I didn’t answer, they just ended the call. Then they rang back, again saying they were from London, but this time the accent was even heavier, making it really hard to understand a word. They once again insisted they were Carphone Warehouse. I’ve seen other people say this same number pretends to be Amazon. Even though the number shows up as being from London, it looks like it’s actually being run from a call centre in India.
