I’ve come across some information on a different platform that suggests this number is linked to a widespread scam operation masquerading as a claims agency or something of that sort. Thankfully, True Caller intercepted the call, so my landline remained silent, and I’ve also taken the precaution of blocking them on BT. Better luck next time, you dodgy lot!

On 19th May, I got a call meant for my wife, using her surname. Since we're ex-directory, she asked who it was and what they wanted. The woman on the other end refused to say anything and just hung up abruptly.

So, someone rang me saying they were from Legal and General and already had my details like my name and where I live. They said my washing machine warranty had ended and tried to sell me extra cover. When I told them I already had insurance, they just cut the call straight away!

I had to ask a couple of times what company exactly he was with to check if it was a dodgy call. Outta nowhere, he just curses at me saying, "are you bloody deaf?" I was gobsmacked! Some bloke with an Indian accent rang up, said he was from YouBenefit or something like that. It was one of those survey calls. Luckily I had a bit of time and gave him a load of rubbish answers just for the fun of it. Asked him about stuff like my fridge, washer, life insurance, AT&T, plus some free magazine nonsense. They weren’t really trying to sell anything, but I’m guessing they pass your info on to other firms that harrass you later. Anyway, straight to BLOCK.

I got a call from a woman speaking with an Indian accent asking for a Ms S Jones. Thing is, no one by that name has ever lived here. When I asked who was calling, they just ended the call. Seems like a sketchy scam to me.
