A man called me, speaking with an African accent. He claimed his firm could help me recover $25,000 from an investment that I have absolutely no recollection of ever making. Sounds like a classic phishing or investment fraud to me. When I asked why I couldn’t hear his voice on the ringback tone, he just said it was “company policy.” Things got heated when I seriously questioned him. My takeaway? These people are quite dangerous scammers.
