I received a rather dodgy phone call from someone claiming to be from an energy company named "OVO." They were trying to persuade me to switch my energy provider and insisted I get a smart meter installed. Clearly a phishing attempt if I’ve ever seen one! I hung up without hesitation.

I've never been an Eon customer, nor signed up with them at all. I only just moved into this place, but somehow Eon passed on my info to this other firm. I have no clue how they ended up with my details since I never gave permission. Feels like a serious data protection violation to me!

I got a call from this number but I have no clue who it is. I checked online and it seems like loads of others are trying to figure it out too. There’s no clear info or any proper comments explaining who it might be. Does anyone here maybe know who owns this number? It’s really mysterious!

this number rang me out of the blue, someone claiming to be from "ovo" asking if i wanted to switch my energy provider and arrange for a smart meter fitting.
