I don’t pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise (honestly, I’m not expecting any legit calls from strangers, plus I’m signed up with the TPS, so any sales calls are actually against the rules). I usually just let it ring out, block the number straight away just to be safe, then check it out on this site. Most times, like 9 times out of 10, this place shows it’s a scammer.

Received a couple of calls from this number over the last two days, but all I got was silence before they abruptly ended the call. Quite peculiar, really!

They claimed to represent O2 and said they'd provide me with a special discount. However, my phone isn't even with O2 anymore, which makes me suspect they're using outdated records to target unsuspecting O2 customers. When I questioned them, they promptly ended the call.

Whenever i get one of those scam calls i tell my little 3 year old girl that grandad or grandma want to have a quick chat. She runs straight to the phone and i hand it over. But unfortunately, they never stick around more than 10 seconds. If ive got the time, i like to chuck their time about a bit too.

Got a call about life insurance. The lady said I was a pensioner and said I couldn’t pay for it since I live off my state pension. Complete rubbish as I’m only 58. I told her I was actually 84 and looking for a policy that’d last 20 years. She never caught on what age I’d be then. Said I could only manage £3 a month and asked if she could still help. After a long silence, she just hung up. I love winding these lot up, especially the washing machine warranty calls, where I really take the mick and waste their time properly.

I got a call from a bloke who said his name was "Matthew" and had a heavy Indian accent. He claimed to be from Carphone Warehouse, but then he just went quiet. After a good while of silence, I ended the call.

Had a call from an Indian lady claiming to be from the 3 network offering me a free upgrade. Funny thing is, she had no idea I'd swapped my phone at the shop a few months back, so I wouldn’t be eligible if it was a genuine call centre. Then she tried to sell me an extra sim card to add onto my contract, which I just said no to. I never buy anything from cold calls, even if they are legit. She sounded a bit disappointed when I didn't accept her offers. Bit sad, really.

Seemed like a total scam to me. They claimed to have a covid discount for my 02 account, but i dont even use that provider. When i asked where in the UK they were, they couldn’t give me a proper answer. Then they sent a text with some one-time code - that was when I just ended the call!

Utterly fraudulent, I must say! I received a call claiming to be from Currys / PC World, promising a delightful phone upgrade. They grabbed my email and sent across some supposed details. Then, they mentioned they’d ring me again. Just to be safe, I contacted Currys directly, only to find out they aren't making calls to offer upgrades at the moment. If that were the case, they’d clearly introduce themselves as Carphone Warehouse. Steer clear of this number; it's best avoided!
