I got a call from someone saying they were from “Carphone Warehouse” with a deal for me. I told him cold calling like that is against the law. He said he was just calling on behalf of my network provider. I replied that if that were true, my provider would contact me themselves by phone or email. Then he asked me for my email to prove he was genuine. I refused and told him I suspected it was a scam and didn’t want to waste any more time. He then cheekily said I was the one wasting his time! So I just ended the call.

Sounds like a total scam. This person said they were from Curry’s PC World and tried asking for info about my phone. I told them Sky lets me have endless brand new phones at no cost. That really threw them off, and they just ended the call straight away.

I got a recorded message saying my card had been charged twice and to press either 1 or 2 to talk to someone. A bloke with a strong Indian accent came on the line. I suspected it was dodgy, so I had a bit of fun. I asked where he was calling from, and he said London. Then I asked what card it was about, and suddenly he just hung up on me.
