I received a call today from someone claiming to be from O2, tempting me with an upgrade. The peculiar thing is, I don't even have an account with them. When I politely declined and mentioned I wasn’t an O2 customer, the agent got rather inappropriate-he stated he would ring me back later from his personal mobile, and then proceeded to make some quite graphic comments before I had the chance to hang up. Naturally, I’ve since blocked the number. The whole experience has left me feeling quite unsettled. From what I can gather, the call came from ATLC on 0204538314.

I received a return call, much like others seem to have done, and was greeted by an annoying automated voice in an American accent. I swiftly decided to block the number. I'm certain they'll try from another number soon enough, but I'll make sure to block that one as well. Just a heads up, they're definitely looking to get in touch again. Best to block each time they pop up. It’s obviously a scam.

Every time I attempt to ring back, it simply displays ATLC and then an automated American voice chimes in. Seems a bit dodgy to me!

I had a rather peculiar phone call this Saturday afternoon that abruptly cut off. When I attempted to return the call, a polished recording informed me that I’d been in touch with ATLC and suggested that I press a number if I wished to opt out of future calls. Then, just like that, the call ended. Seems thoroughly dodgy to me!

I have a sneaking suspicion that this is a dodgy operation. Phoning back the number leads you down a rabbit hole, prompting you to hit a button to stop their calls. Whatever you do, steer clear of that and don't interact with them at all. Just let it be and don’t respond.

Today, I've received three calls where the line just cuts off as soon as I pick up. When I tried calling back, it mentions something about ATLC. The numbers are 0204 4538, followed by 3844, 2233, or 8207.

Initially, the caller was eager to wrap things up within the first five minutes, but I feigned interest in their dubious offer, which only egged them on to keep pushing. Once they realised I wasn’t about to part with a single piece of personal information, their frustration was palpable. This tactic of dragging out the conversation is something anyone can do, whether alone or in a group. These tricksters are keen on making as many calls as possible within their allotted time, hoping for a lucky break. The more we waste their time, the more irritable we make them, thwarting their plans to swindle. It would be splendid if government agencies shared easy-to-learn strategies to foil these fraudsters; after all, it’s our best bet against their underhanded schemes!
