I got a call claiming to be from O2 trying to sell me an upgrade, but I don't even have an O2 account. When I told the person this and said I wasn't interested, they said they'd ring me again later that evening from their own mobile. Then they started saying some really inappropriate stuff before I quickly ended the call. I've since blocked the number. It's left me feeling pretty unsettled. From what I can find, the number 0204538314 is linked to ATLC.

I called the number back like some others have and got an automated voice with an American accent. I didn’t hang about and blocked it straight away. I’m pretty sure they’ll ring from another number eventually, but I’ll just block that one too. Just a heads up - they seem to be trying to get you to ring them back. Best to block every single time. No question it’s a scam.

Got a call this Saturday afternoon but it dropped real quick. I rang back and a fancy automated voice said I’d reached ATLC and if I wanted to stop getting calls, I should press a button. Then it cut off on me again. Pretty sure it’s a scam.

I'm pretty sure this is a scam call. When you call the number back, it asks you to press a button to stop future calls. Don't press anything or interact with them at all. Best to just ignore it completely.

Today I got three calls but when I picked up, the line just went silent. When I tried calling back, it said something about ATLC. The numbers were like 0204 4538, and then maybe 3844, or 2233, or even 8207. Quite odd really.

Some scammer tried ringing me, but I stuck it out and wasted their time till they were proper annoyed and nearly losing it. Took about 20 minutes before they finally hung up on me. At first, the fraudster wanted to quit after like five minutes, but I managed to convince them I was interested so they kept going. However, I didn’t slip them a single bit of my details, making things impossible for them. Everyone can do this whether they’re on their own or organised - just drag out the call and waste their time. These lot try to ring loads of people quick to catch anyone who falls for it. By frustrating them, you spoil their day and make it less likely they’ll get away with it. Honestly, I reckon the government should teach us simple tricks like this, cause it’s probably the best way to tackle these scammers.
