Got a call from someone claiming to be with Curry’s PC World, but I had a hard time catching what he was saying. There was a lot of noise in the background, so I figured it was a call centre. Since I’d just been browsing Curry’s website, I thought maybe it was legit at first. But then he started pushing mobile phones, rattling off a bunch of brand names I’d never even heard of. I asked where he was calling from and which company he represented. Couldn’t get a straight answer other than “Curry’s.” When I asked if he knew who I was, he said he didn’t have that info. Then he started listing everything Curry’s supposedly sells, like he was trying to cram all their products into 20 seconds. Total scam, and not even a convincing one. I asked about the weather to throw him off - he said it was fine for him, but here we’re in the middle of Storm Eunice. Made me chuckle because I ended up keeping him on the line for ages, pretending I couldn’t understand and asking him to repeat himself. Instead of shouting at scammers, I prefer to waste their time - it’s far more fun! 😂

Received a call from someone named Joseph claiming he was ringing from Curry’s. He was pushing an iPhone deal supposedly half price. I told him straight up he was a rubbish scammer. Then he gave me a number, 02895813306, for me to ring back his company. I just laughed and he ended the call quick after that!

On the 15th of Feb 2022, I got calls from 02089544147 and 02045175219. Then on the 16th, my phone rang from 02089544908, 02045175122, 02089544698, and also 02089544421. The next day, the 17th, I received calls from 02045203524 and 02045175203. I never bothered to ring them back.

Watch out for these dodgy calls, they're total scams. They’ll quiz you on all sorts - mobiles, mortgages, houses, whatever they claim they can offer or help you with. The whole thing’s just a way to make you spill loads of info so they can piece together a profile on you. It’s called fishing, and later down the line, they’ll use what they’ve gathered to trick you out of your cash. Absolute rubbish. 🤑☠️🤬💩💩💰💰 They’re lying, messed up creeps. None of these calls actually come from the UK; they get routed through some dodgy system from way off somewhere else, and half the time it’s hard to even understand what they're saying. Usually these calls come through because your phone number is listed somewhere - maybe in an ad for selling a car, letting out a property, or some other service where you’ve put your mobile down. That’s how they track you down. Sometimes they’ll even reference info from your listing to try and trick you into answering questions. So watch out for that.
