I received a rather dubious phone call purportedly from CarPhone Warehouse, during which the caller promised me a whopping 50% discount on a mobile phone along with a Netflix subscription. I haven't the slightest clue how they got hold of my number. The fellow on the other end had a distinctly strong Indian accent and it reeked of a chaotic call centre atmosphere. I had to clarify that my phone is supplied by my employer, hence that offer was of no use to me. I firmly requested that they refrain from calling me again, as they were simply squandering both my time and theirs. When I inquired about how my number was acquired, they abruptly ended the call.
